All work days come to an end. At Swin Dispensaries, that’s no exception. With locations in Nixa, Hollister, Ozark, and Springfield, Missouri, closing time hits at 9pm.
Started in 2019 by Blake Swindall, Swin Dispensaries has overtaken the hemp retail market by storm. Offering federally legal hemp products, the business has only continued to grow since it’s inception. “I set out to not only start a business, I wanted to set the standard in a new industry,” says Blake. “I’ve worked hard over the last six years to provide safe, quality products to the area.”
The recent executive order signed by President Donald J. Trump on December 18, 2025 has brought a shock to the hemp market, though. While lawmakers are currently working to amend the executive order regarding hemp, the employees at Swin Dispensaries seem unbothered. “Yea, it’s worrying, but they have tried to pass legislation before and it got turned down. This time won’t be any different,” said Jeremy Pankey, the manager of the Nixa location as he wipes down a glass case, “plus, the market is too big now and it’d be a gut-shot for Missouri to lose all the tax revenue.”
The employees at Swin Dispensaries have a strict closing procedure, beginning promptly at 9pm. After customers have been served, they begin their exodus by locking the door and turning the flashing “Open” sign off. While one person finishes cleaning duties, another counts the drawer. Finally, the end of the night comes. As the lights shut off up front, employees gather their things from the back room and make their way outside. With the turn of a key, the night comes to a close.
Swin Dispensaries is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can find their locations here.
