In early January we covered what closing* at Swin Dispensaries in Nixa, Missouri entailed. Now, we’re back to see the other side of the coin: opening for the day. If you didn’t see the last Swin video, watch it below:
For starters, Swin Dispensaries has been in business since 2019. Like any other business, it has evolved past it’s original bearings. As the products and customers have changed, so have the opening duties at Swin.
The click of the door and the beeping of an alarm code waiting to be shut off greet the openers. As the lights come on and those on shift clock in, Noah LaNear grabs the clipboard from the back of the shop. On it is a checklist of duties, both for opening and closing. The newest manager of Swin’s team, Noah’s eye for detail is both accurate and purposeful.
“The opening duties at Swin establish a sense of consistent routine, within a structure built on checks and balances,” says Noah. “I depend on the process of working through that set of daily tasks in the morning to give me a sense of clarity and preparedness before the day ever starts.”
With four retail locations and an online store, Swin depends on it’s people to maintain the standards of the shops, which were put in place by the founder and owner, Blake Swindall.

Nobody knows this better than Jeremy Pankey, Swin Dispensaries’ longest serving manager. “The opening duties have become more refined and streamlined over the last few years,” says Jeremy. “We have become more efficient by adding computers to each shop to check online orders and important emails before we open the shop to the public.” Checking online orders not only streamlines the shop’s success, but helps the Distribution and Fulfillment Team as well.
Swin Dispensaries can be visited at any of their locations seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
*Note: Edit made on 2/8/26 @ 10:21 p.m. CST to change “opening” to “closing”.
